Nancy Beiman |
|
Former Disney animator Nancy Beiman will conduct a lecture on how animators can create characters and stories that have originality and appeal. Drawing from her vast experience, Miss Beiman will draw on her vast experience as an animator to help participants develop how to develop their character and storyboard ideas.
Nancy Beiman
She is an icon of the industry with 30 years experience as producer, designer, and story artist. She has grown and changed with the animation industry having graduated from the pencil to the computer.
Miss Beiman has taught in a variety of positions, including her current position at Rochester Institute of Technology. Her first book, published in 2007, entitled "Prepare to Board!" which teaches character and storyboard design, has been well received by animators and animation schools throughout the world.

Kompin will be giving a seminar on the Making and Distributing the movie along with Auchara Kikanjanas, the Managing Director of Kantana Animation and Producer of the award-winning movie Khan Kluay. They will discuss the challenges and difficulties they faced in making the film, as well as distributing it.
Kompin Kemgumnird
Director Kompin Kemgumnird, studied visual design in his native Thailand as well as character animation at CalArts. He was awarded a scholarship to Walt Disney Feature Animation from 1996 to 1998 and created his first independent film “Itch” in 1996.
A further two-year stint at the Disney studios working as inbetweener on ‘Tarzan’ and ‘Atlantis: The Lost Empire’, was followed by work on the feature ‘Ice Age’ at Blue Sky Studios in 2002. He makes his debut feature with Khan Kluay. Khan Kluay has been showcased at numerous film and animation festivals throughout the world, and won Best Picture for the Thai National Film Association Awards as well as Best Feature at the Animadrid International Animation Festival in Spain.
Auchara Kikanjanas
Auchara Kikanjanas studied Computer Graphics Design and started work in animation with storyboarding and as a CG artist. This led to work as the Head of a CG Animator team at Kantana Animation and is now Managing Director/ Producer of Kantana Animation Studios.

Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson will discuss the Making of their acclaimed short film First Flight, and how it became a stepping stone to making their debut feature.
Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson Two long time DreamWorks Animations veterans who made their animation directing debut with “First Flight.” They have also contributed to a variety of animated films such as: The Road to El Dorado, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Shrek, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and Shark Tale.
Cameron has worked as an animator on Sony Imageworks’ “Stuart Little 2,” while also teaching at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects where he currently hosts their best-selling character animation lecture series.
After their work on ‘First Flight’, they are now working on their first feature film for Dreamworks Pictures.
