A boy is caught by a girl stealing a book in Shinjuku’s Kinokuniya. Kinokuniya’s owner lets the boy off, and gives him money with an instruction to him and the girl to have fun with it. “This film is about a boy and girl in search of their rightful moment of sexual ecstasy.” Shot hand-held in the streets, it captures Shinjuku in 1968 and its student riots, as the two young people come into contact with characters – actors, critics, bookstore owner, sexologist - who play themselves under their own names, speaking at times with impromptu lines. The demonstrations more or less accidentally filmed, reflects the turbulence of the place and time. The film reflects the aimless energy of the time and charts this confusion.
